Harry Potter gets a standalone Quidditch sports game. Beta starts April 21-22.
We are now a few months separated since the release of Hogwarts: Legacy, the Harry Potter franchise's most ambitious and best-selling title to date. Yet established very early into the game was the fact that the violent full-contact broomstick sport was suspiciously banned for the school year. Now WB Games has a reason for it.

To little surprise, it turns out that WB Games has been secretly working on a separate Wizarding World title led by Unbroken Studios, who have worked on Fantastic Plastic Squad, and Fractured Lands, and are the co-developers of the upcoming Suicide Squad game.
Most notably it looks like the art style and graphics aren't as immersive as this year's Hogwarts: Legacy. Considering a game like this is, as described by the developer, an Online Multiplayer Team Sports Game, the range of PCs and devices will only help garner more players on more devices. Notably, the sign-up for the beta asks about PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in addition to current-gen platforms like PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
This will be the second time Quidditch has had its very own standalone sports video game. Back in 2003, EA Games developed Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, GBA, and PC. While EA no longer publishes and develops Harry Potter games, WB Games has taken their own internally created video game publishing branch to create Harry Potter titles that forgo adapting movies and books and instead is letting the Harry Potter brand organically exist with new titles that acknowledge and compliment the lore already established without the restraints of needing to follow a story set by movie within a limited game development schedule.
If you want to try the beta from April 21st to April 22nd, sign up on Harry Potter Quidditch Champion's official website.
Players will be able to create their own student and play by themselves or with friends in online matchmaking games. While we have yet to see gameplay, it shouldn't be long given how quickly the beta will be coming out after this announcement this evening.
The full release date and pricing structure are currently unknown but will be within this decade, as Unbroken Studios lists the game as releasing in 202X.
