Wii Virtual Console Games lost if Wii breaks?
If you have bought & downloaded games from the Wii Virtual Console and your Wii breaks, do you lose those games and have to repurchase them?
My brother-in-law says that is not the case with XBOX Live accounts because you can recuperate anything you’ve downloaded if your XBOX breaks. I was wondering if Wii had something similar?
quick story.
A buddy of mine lost his Wii in a fire. He ended up getting everything back including his new Wii, he told nintendo and let them access his former account.
They credited him all of his spent points back. he re-bought most of everything back for nothing + some new stuff with the left over points

p.s. the reason you used an SD card in the past was to free up space basically (with actual VC games) but now its to directly access them and keep the Wii memory free.
